The Concept: Using a gamified reward system along with the lighthearted theme of firefighting, employees are reminded of conflict diffusion techniques. These skills are key to team success and invaluable in any workplace.

When Pueblo moved to a larger location in 2022, they began hiring many new employees, many of whom were not familiar with plant care.

These new employees were overwhelmed with caring for the hundreds of plants at the store, and were not confident in answering the many questions customers presented them with about plant care.

The Pueblo Basic Plant Care Guide provides new Pueblo employees with an overview of the watering, light, and pest treatment requirements for various types of indoor and outdoor plants.

This training tracks learner progress through these three categories and provides a practice at the end of each section to assess their understanding via a scoreboard. The gamification of the training makes it engaging and fun for the learner, while the score allows the trainer to see what categories the new employee may need extra practice with.

This training allows training to be more enjoyable as well as efficient.

I currently live in Gilbert, Arizona with my husband and our Shih-tzu, Daisy. I am an avid plant-collector, with over 50 species that I keep alive! I love to hike, cook, read, and visit family in Seattle.
